Lake Tahoe

We had a wonderful few days in Lake Tahoe. Some highlights include an
actual bear crossing in our yard(look for the video in separate blog),
an epic MTB ride along the Tahoe Rim Trail and the Beach. Yup, more
than just a ski destination. We were sad to leave.

Session a park

When u skate or freestlye in a park or bowl (as they are sometimes referred) you "session a park". Well that is what they say in California anyway. Yesterday we went to session a park. No skateboards or bikes just yet. Just good fun running/jumping around. No falls for Benny. Nico took a header on a rail. Ouch! Not very forgiving. X-games, look out!

Peaceful moments

Benny has been off his rocker lately. At night when we decompress Carrie and I think of new strategies to calm him down a little (telling ourselves that this is a phase and it won't last long is a bunch of bull$#!*). One idea was laying down in the grass and lookin up @ the sky. We took this pic looking up @ a palm tree. A peaceful moment...

Happy trails

Benny is doing really well on his bike. We drew a chalk line/track for him to follow and it really helped his steering. He doesn't know how to brake yet. That might be an even tougher concept than pedaling. But today we were @ the park with the bike and he veered and went off roading. It is much harder to pedal in the grass but he mashed his way through. Every once in a while he wants to abandon the bike but I insist he at least push it back. Tough love eh? What a good boy. We r so proud of him. Hopefully we can get him to learn how to brake soon because he knows how to gather speed now. I keep thinking this is just a phase but he keeps getting on and riding. Is it time for a bmx/trail bike?
